My tips on how to draw :)

Hello everyone,

I probably should have done this at the start of term, but here are some of my tips on how to draw.  You probaby wont need a lot for this, maybe just a couple of things.
Ok so here we go:

Tip 1:  To know how to draw, you will need a great imagination,  this is something that a lot of people have, and you just need to find it.

Tip 2:  Never, never, ever, ever give up.

Tip 3: Be positive.  If you are positive while drawing you will be able to do a much better job.

Tip 4:  Dont ever doubt your work.  If you say that you arnt doing a great job dont doubt yourself, just try and do a better job.

Tip 5:  Get outside and surround yourself with trees.  I am saying this because I like getting outside and getting fresh air.  I find that it also helps me think and that it is quite fun to draw trees.

Tip 6:  Have Fun!!  There is nothing worse then trying to draw with no imagination or positive behaviour, just have fun.

Ok so I hope these tips help, and I know there wasnt a lot there but they are some of the main ones that I use a lot while drawing.

:)

WEEK 10

Hello Guys and Girls,

yes you read the title right, it is week 10 and if you may or may not know it is the last week of school.  I sure cant wait until the holidays get here.  Looking back on the term it feels like its gone pretty quickly.  I sure hope that the holidays dont go as quickly.  There are some things that I would like to achieve on the holidays, and I have also made a list up of these things in another blog post that you can check out :)

This week I have not been up to a lot, I have just been looking after some of my neighbours kids, taking the dog for a walk and catching up on some assignments.  I have also been doing some work still to keep the savings coming for my Japan trip.  Got an info night on it coming soon and I am still heaps looking forward to going.

Other then that I have just been studying for school and doing some work on the weekends.  Still trying to achieve my goal for this year, which was to learn how to surf, but the waves have been huge lately at my local beach and a bit choppy too.

If you are all going on school holidays, I hope you have a safe holiday and have lots of fun.

Casey :)

Palm Tree

Hello everyone,
Today I am doing a how to post on....
How to draw a palm tree.

This is an easy step by step guide and I hope it helps you all out :)

Things you will need:

  • Lead pacer or pencil
  • Rubber
  • Sheet of plain white paper
Step 1:
Gather all of you equipment and then draw 2 curved lines next to each other.  Try and make it look like at one end that they are nearly touching each other.
(sorry the picture is side on)

Step 2:
Now draw 6 slightly curved lives at the top of the tree.  These will be for the leaves.

Step 3:
For this step you will need to draw the leaves.  To do this, draw curves on each side but also make them kind of jaggered in some bits.

sorry for another
side on picture :/

Step 4:
Now add in some lines on the trunk to add more detail.  At the top start of with smaller lines and then gradually make them bigger.

Step 5:
Make a background.  This step is optional, but I put in the ocean and a drawing of my surfboard.

Paddle Pop boxes

This weeks how to is on, how to make paddle pop boxes.

I used to make these when I was in primary school and they are fun to make and very handy to use in the office to hold things like rubbers.

Things you will need:
  • PVA craft glue
  • A packet of Paddle Pop sticks
Step 1:

Gather all of your equipment and then lay out 12 paddle pop sticks next to each other.  After this glue one paddle pop stick about 1cm away from the top and another about 1cm away from the bottom.  This will hold them all in place and save some glue too.  This is now the base of the box.

Step 2:
Once the base of the box is dry, flip the box over and place another stick about 1cm from the top and another from the bottom.  Then place a stick vertically on each side of the box, place these on top of the 2 horizontal ones.

Step 3:

Keep building up the box by glueing sticks  horizontally and vertically, until it is at the height that you would like.

Step 4:
To make a lid for the box, repeat step 1.

Step 5:
Once the box and lid are dry you can paint them the colour of your choice.  I have left out a paddle pop sick in the middle of my lid to create a money box and I have use heaps of different colours for my box.

SCOOBIES :D

Need a way to waste time?
Have no fear, the Scoobies are here!!

Ok so hello everyone, when I was a bit younger (6 years younger)  I loved scoobies.  They were my favourite craft things to do, and when I was in the shops today I saw a packet of scoobies and I just had to get them.
Some of you may not know what scoobies are and some of you might.  So this is why I did this how to on....

How to make scoobies :)

Things You need:

A packet of scoobies.

Step 1:
Pick two strands you would like to use, then wrap them around you first two fingers and make a knot.  I am going to be using blue and pink.

Step 2:
Make two loops using the same colour. (Blue)

Step 3:
Now grab the pink strands and poke them through the blue loops.  Then pull tight.

Step 4:
Repeat steps 2 and 3 swapping the colours of the loops as you go.  Keep doing this until there is no remaining strands.

So there you have it, how to make a scoobie.  I got my scoobie strands from the local spotlight for only $4.

Weekly Posts Term 2 week 8

Heeey everyone,

This week is the week of my VLOG.  I will be updating the VLOG very shortly on a brief summary on what I have been up to this week and who won my giveaway.  I have also done up a post in my how to section, on how to draw the picture of the beach I gave away.

I have also been working heaps and doing a lot of school work, but I still of course have time to take my beautiful dog for a walk.  I have continued going skateboarding up to the local shops, and I hope to go for a bit of late night shopping on Thursday.

I am trying to save up for a longboard, and for some spending money for my trip to Japan in September.  I am so excited and cannot wait to go.  Every day is one less day I have to wait for.  I also went to a school leadership day along with 2 others to an event called Ylead.  And I really enjoyed it, I have also come out a more positive and happy person.

It was mainly about a lady called Rowie who looks like she is always full of energy, and a man name Jack Sinclair, who decided to cycle around Australia and for his Gap Year in Tasmania, he decided to run right around Tasmania.  He has also done many marathons.

I will talk to you soon, but I hope you all have a great day.

How to draw a combie van

Heyy everyone,

This weeks how to is,
How to draw a combie van.  I have decided to do this drawing, because in a couple of weeks I will be doing a give away on a drawing and how to draw it.  Stay tuned for more updates on the giveaway.

Firstly, you will need:
  • A sheet of plain white paper (I am using an A4 sheet)
  • A lead pencil or pacer
  • A rubber
Step 1:
Gather all of your equipment and then draw a slightly curved line horizontally.  After this draw two shorter vertical lines on each end of the horizontal line.

Step 2:
Draw a sort of v-shape at one end and make a longer line connecting to it.  This is some detail for the combi.

Step 3:

Draw 3 squares above the line you just drew and a triangle near the end.  Also draw 3 angled squares on the end to make the front windscreens.

Step 4:
Draw a smaller volkswagon symbol above the little v and then add a bottom to the combi.  In the bottom draw 2 sections where it sorta goes up, this will be for the tires.

Step 5:
Time to draw the tires, to do this draw 2 circles inside on another, and then shade in the outside circle.  Add more detail if you want.  (I added in a smaller volkswagon symbol in each of the tires.)

Step 6:
This is the last step.  You can draw in any bit of detail you would like.  You can also add anything.  I added in a bull bar ( I think that's what its called haha :)  and some doors.

And there you have it, my way of drawing a combi van.

Weekly Posts, Term 2, Week 7

Hello everyone,

This week I have done a give-away, you can all see this in my home page. And all you have to do to enter is comment below your name or an appropiate nickname, and you could be in the draw to win the prize.

This week I also went for a skate to a different place I havent been to for a while.  Yep I felt crafty so I went for a skate down to spotlight.  I remember when I was a little girl making boxes out of paddle-pop sticks, so I decided to make one.  I made a rubber holder and a money box out of the paddle pops and they are very colourful.

I am also doing a VLOG on who the winner was for my giveaway so entries are now closed :)
Who ever entered good luck and the results should be in soon.

More how to's are on the way :)  In my vlog I will be also doing a very short brief weekly post.  This is the first vlog I have done so I might be a bit nervous.

Haha  I will talk to you all soon.
